The production line has robotic cars moving from section to section exhibiting a very advanced level of automation. The test stations were equipped with high end dyno machines simulating the performance of the bike in different conditions and a large display was showing detailed results from the motor, transmission, brakes and suspension.

Power Without the Heat
The Sur-Ron X is equipped with a state of the art Axial flux motor, which deploys the highest usable power and torque densities of any electric motor. Combined with our sine wave controller, we are seeing 20% additional torque vs a typical radial flux motor found on lesser electric motorbikes. The result is the most powerful motor in the smallest possible package, allowing this bike to easily climb slopes of 35% grade.
The Sur-Ron X also uses a dual stage drive. The motor runs at very high RPM’s which helps the input power to remain as efficient as possible. The first stage is belt driven which quiets the high RPM’s generated from the motor. The second stage is chain driven which handles the massive torque to the rear axle.
This dual stage drive is quieter yet increases efficiency without sacrificing power, and the lower stress on the motor prevents the engine and battery from over-heating.
Whisper Quiet Sine Wave Controller
The Sur-Ron X gets another upgrade with the Sine Wave controller, which is the latest in brushless motor controllers. The Sine wave controller reduces sound emissions by 30% and also improves throttle control by smoothing out and making acceleration more predictable.
Sine Wave also helps you to prolong your charge and extends the life of your brake pads. This is possible with the special regenerative feature of the controller which automatically kicks in whenever the bike is coasting and helps increase your battery charge. Turn this feature off to coast just like you would with a non-electric bike.
The combination of the Axial flux motor and the Sine Wave Controller make the Sur-Ron X a workhorse that can outperform similar sized electric bikes.
Long Life Battery
When considering an electric motorbike, the battery is a major factor because it is easily the costliest individual component. For a battery to be safe, reliable and conducive to high performance, it needs to be lightweight while also being powerful.
The Sur-Ron X is equipped with a state of the art Lithium battery made by Panasonic using high ratio 18650 battery cells. This 60 volt battery produces 32 ah producing close to 2,000 watt hours of riding pleasure.

Responsive and Powerful Suspension
The Sur-Ron X suspension is forgiving and very responsive, providing lots of travel when needed, and allowing for a better riding experience even at high speeds.
Front : Weighing in at just over 3Kg, these Volcano DNM magnesium suspension forks are double tube telescopic providing a full 200mm of travel. They are RST with oil and spring dampening with adjustable pre-load and compression.
Rear : Fastace 8 shocks on the rear, are aided with a dynamic compression system that is progressive. The first ½ of the shock is light and sensitive that responds to small bumps in the roads surface for greater control at high speeds. The second ½ of the shock is much stiffer which comes in handy when you are landing those off-road jumps.
As the name suggests, these rear shocks have a full 8 inches of travel that allows for better handling of even the roughest off-road terrain.
State of the Art Frame Construction
Using the same sophisticated design software used to construct some of the most complex buildings in the world…over a million dollars was spent on tooling for this state of the art aluminum frame.
Built of lightweight 6061 aluminum, the frame is compressed with an astounding 6,000-ton weight. This amount of pressure alters the very structure of the aluminum to make it up to three times as strong as non-pressed aluminum while remaining ultra-light in weight. The total weight of the frame and sub-frame is only 7.8kg.
Each frame is carefully inspected and held up the highest standards of quality to ensure it can withstand impacts and pressure.
Rocker Arm: These construction techniques and standards are also applied to the rocker arm which is also built to be light yet tough. The construction of both the rocker arm and the frame allow this powerful bike to easily handle the most punishing off-road conditions.
